YouMultilingual ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our English learning app.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you register.
• Learning Data: Your responses to challenges, conversations, and interviews to provide AI feedback.
• Audio Recordings: Voice recordings made during speaking practice. These are sent to our servers for transcription via OpenAI Whisper and are not stored permanently.
• Usage Data: Features used, time spent, scores, and progress metrics.
• Device Information: Device type, OS version, and app version for troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide personalized English learning feedback powered by Claude AI (Anthropic).
• Track your progress, XP, levels, and achievements.
• Send you streak reminders and learning notifications (only if you allow them).
• Improve our AI models and app features.
• Ensure the security of your account.

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud), protected with industry-standard encryption.
• Audio recordings are processed for transcription and are not stored on our servers after processing.
• We use HTTPS for all data transmission.
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings > Delete Account.

4. Third-Party Services

YouMultilingual uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication and data storage
• Anthropic Claude: AI-powered conversation and feedback
• OpenAI Whisper: Speech-to-text transcription
• Expo Notifications: Push notifications

Each service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them.

5. Children's Privacy

YouMultilingual is designed for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us at privacy@youmultilingual.com.

6. Your Rights

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal data.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Opt out of marketing notifications at any time.
• Export your learning progress data.

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@youmultilingual.com or use the Delete Account option in Settings.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use anonymous analytics to understand how users interact with the app and improve our features. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
